40 Women ("we", "our", or "us") is a community app for Jewish women to coordinate challah baking on behalf of others. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Name — your full name, used to identify you within the app
- Email address — used for account authentication and login
- City — used to show which cities are participating in each campaign
We do not collect your precise location, phone number, payment information, or any other personal data.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To display your city on campaign pages when you sign up to bake challah
- To allow you to launch and manage your own campaigns
- To authenticate you securely via email and password
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and at rest. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database and authentication (privacy policy)
- Hebcal — Shabbat time lookups; no personal data is sent (privacy policy)
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — city geocoding; only city names are sent, no personal data (privacy policy)
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information via the Account screen in the app
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data

Children's Privacy
40 Women is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
